I offer a warm and inclusive space where you are allowed to just BE, and where you can feel safe exploring and expressing whatever has been weighing you down. Together we uncover the beliefs, patterns, and past events that shape your experience. As I listen to you and HEAR you, I look for the small signals that point toward the deeper truths inside you that are yearning to be known. We nurture and ignite the extraordinary light that shines within you.

Life can feel so heavy and hard sometimes. Maybe you’ve had dark times. Maybe you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, stuckness, grief, the effects of trauma, or difficulty with relationships, and there’s a small voice inside you saying, “I’m so tired of this.”

I don’t have all the answers, but what I do have is a particular set of skills. Skills to help you explore and uncover the layers of your experiences, process feelings and trauma, and experience new ways of being.

Services

Creative Unblocking

Reclaim your artistic and creative freedom! I help you break out of self-doubt and fear of judgment, spark new ideas and perspectives, tap into your authentic voice, and explore uncharted territories of expression. Through curiosity, playfulness, and a willingness to experiment, we can return to the joy of discovery and flow.

Anxiety, Depression, Anger

With compassion for where you are right now, I support you in uncovering the layers of your experience, strengthening your resilience, and developing internal resources to deal with challenges. We can unburden you of the rocks you may be carrying in your backpack.

Trauma, Grief & Loss

Maybe you’ve had some painful, overwhelming experiences recently or in the past. I’m with you to help you understand and process what you’ve been through and recover your full self as you move forward. I work in gentleness to help you meet what might be hard to look at.

Health Issues

If you are dealing with medical issues / cancer – diagnosis, treatment, and life after, it’s easy to get lost and forget that we are more than just our “illness.” I help you return to a feeling of wholeness and the full person that you are.

Life Transitions

Big life moments can bring big feelings and confusion in the face of new circumstances and new identities. I help you navigate life transitions – college, mid-life, job changes, divorce, retirement, and aging. You don’t have to go it alone.

EMDR

I also provide EMDR, which uses your brain’s natural healing instincts to help you process traumatic experiences, “stuck” memories, and ingrained unhelpful patterns so you can reintegrate parts of yourself that have been wounded by overwhelming experiences. I work to make sure you feel safe in this process.

Adults

We start by working together to clearly understand your present challenges. I’m like your co-pilot as you explore. My aim is to help you know and understand yourself better – to reveal and strengthen your authentic self – empowering you to move through life with a greater sense of ease and vitality..

Couples

I work to help you develop better communication, rebuild trust, and increase connection. I use an emotion-focused approach to help you better understand yourselves and each other, considering each of your family of origin, life experiences, beliefs, and needs. It is possible to become a team again.

Teens

How do you do, fellow kids! (IYKYK). Your adolescent and teen years can be a wild ride. School, parents, friends, internet – tons of voices. It can be hard to find yourSELF in all of that. I can help you navigate the big changes and strong feelings as you move toward adulthood; learn to identify and express your needs; and discover your unique identity.

My approach to therapy is Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Trauma Informed, and Emotion- and Somatic-focused. I also offer Expressive Play as a non-traditional approach to self-discovery and creative flow.

I am a former writer and performer. I’ve experienced depression, anxiety, deep rage, and grief. I’ve had losses, been through cancer, and am a sexual abuse survivor. I fell in love with therapy through my own journey, and I feel honored to help hold open the door for others to come to peace and self-understanding.

I have a cozy, quiet office in a Pasadena bungalow, close to Arroyo Whole Foods. There’s plenty of free street parking, a comfy waiting room, and tea.

Text me any time regarding business issues (scheduling, cancellation, etc.) and emergencies. I’ll reply as soon as I’m able. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911.

I believe in the power of in-person connection. There’s a vibe in live meeting, and I love how it supports the work of therapy. Therefore, I do not offer regular Zoom sessions, though if one is needed now and then due to emergency (or pandemic!), that’s cool.

You are entitled to receive “Good Faith Estimate” of what the charges could be for services provided to you.
